When I “googled” myself the first hit was from Library Ireland Week, with my Facebook and LinkedIn profiles straight after. I’m not a very active Facebook user and mainly use my account to update our library Facebook page. My lastname is pretty unusual so I didn’t expect to find many others with the same name. Most of the hits are library related but I was a little taken aback to find a photo of me from my first and only mountain run!…I won’t be sharing that photo!

Speaking of photos, I guess I should add an image/photo to my blog…I reckon the hardest part will be deciding what of?

Thing 2 – Exploring other Blogs

Finally getting around to “Thing2″. I’ve signed up to follow a couple of blogs but it took me a while to figure out the OpenId option for commenting on and following different blog platforms to my own (WordPress). There seems to be a real mix of experience of blogging on those signed up for the CDP23Things – good to see that I’m not the only newbie …

Thanks to those who have organised the cpd 23 things. It’s prompted me to re-visit blogs and to schedule some time out to look at some of the other tools out there. I have to admit we did away with our blog in favour of Facebook and Twitter (I think these are better tools for connecting with students & we have a very small team). However I do follow some good library professional blogs out there where I ‘ve picked up some very useful tips and information. I guess the real question is deciding what the best tool is for the right job!

Tallaght Maths Eyes

For ten days in June 2011 Tallaght will become a hub of activity all centred around helping us see our world through Maths Eyes.

June 27th to June 29th
International conference on Adult Learning Maths; “Mathematical Eyes; a bridge between adults, mathematics and the real world” takes place in the Institute of Technology, Tallaght. (Registered conference participants only).
